Say goodbye to tired tracksuits reduced to being used for the local shop, and say HELLO to suave suits that are the definition of smart-casual chic.
This trend can be worn during both the day and the night, depending on the kind of jacket you wear. To create a daytime look, I used a track top. This can go badly, so it's important to make sure you wear something that isn't overtly sports gear to avoid looking like you're just about to hit the gym. The stripe detailing on the arms brought some much needed colour to the look, and really helped to bring out the sporty vibe whilst also hitting another of this seasons' trends; stripes. Whilst the jacket and trousers did not perfectly match, I feel that that helped to differentiate the look from looking overly athletic; the tones in both pieces complemented one another, and although it's hard to see here, the stripes on the jacket contained some dark navy blue and the trousers had black panels on each side, creating some sense of 'togetherness'. I finished the look with a slicked back, low ponytail to keep things simple.
To transform this into a nighttime look, I popped on a blazer. This instantly created more of a 'party not pilates' vibe, and made the look seem more put together and smart. In hindsight, I could've worn a simple silver bar choker to take this look up to the next level, and add more of a glam element to it. Note that this look is still very simple, but that the blazer, bold lip, hair down and most importantly heels, is what gives this look a chicer feel.
